In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done us wonders for giving us direct unconditional cash that calls for no repayment.
What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spend my third transfer on investing in livestock rearing. I purchased a mature cow and three sheep to kick me off. My cow which was expectant at the time of purchase has already reproduced and provides me with milk on daily basis. Am so proud of her as she has relieved me from the burden of purchasing milk daily or even taking black tea when there is no money for purchasing milk.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has greatly changed since I began receiving transfers from GiveDirectly. My extreme poverty which was known by all in the community, created a very big gap between my family and all other families in the community as they thought that such kind of an associations would result into a symbiotic relationship. Am so proud that I no longer face such kind of discrimination, am equally transformed and very independent.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second transfer to construct a pit latrine since we did not have one, I then bought two mattresses for the children and visitors and spent the remaining amount to buy clothes and two goats for milk.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I have been able to construct a latrine in my compound and this has given us great relief since we do not have to keep going to the bush to relieve ourselves and so the embarrassment is no longer there.

We're planning to spend our transfer on cementing our current house and buying the glass windows, secondly we intend to construct a toilet since we do not have any at the moment and lastly the remaining amount we will use to buy some livestock that we will raise.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement we're proudest of is having been able to build our current house, we used to stay in a very small house made of five iron sheets but through hardwork we managed to build a better house.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we are facing currently is on making ends meet,we make ropes using sisal and sell in the village but the income from this is very little just the days needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when most of my children are back from school and we sit together in some shades while I sew my ropes. .
