Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that now I got three heifers that I didn't have previously. I had sold the cows which I had to purchase a piece of land in our neighbourhood. I felt it was important to buy the heifers then later sell them and buy another cow from the sales of the heifer. I feel like my hope of living a good life once more has been revived.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received my transfer when I was taking my supper. I stopped eating to check the message that I had received. I was surprised to realize it was from Give Directly indicating they had sent me the first transfers. I was so happy and that I even stopped eating and started dancing. I remember going to bed with great joy because of this news.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent KES 9000 of the transfers from Give Directly to buy trees. I had planted several trees in but was forced to sell them when an emergency arose. When I got this money I decided to buy the trees I had sold previously. I also spent KES 28000 to buy three heifers. Heifers are of great value in this village and produce high returns as long as they are well kept. Apart from that, I used KES 1000 to purchase some clothes for myself and my wife. I spent the remaining KES 16000, to buy iron sheets for constructing a house. I thank Give Directly for allowing me to do all these within a very short period of time.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will enable me to build an iron roofed house as well as buy a dairy cow which will on turn provide milk for my family consumption as well as some for sell to earn a little source of income
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is usually in the evening after i am done with my daily activities. This is the time i usually make calls to my wife to check on her and the kid and knowing that their day was well spent makes me happy
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Due to lack of employment, i have been forced to work as a casual labourer miles away from home in someone's farm. This has been a great challenge since i got married two months ago and my wish has always been to live under the same roof with my wife in order to avoid loneliness. I usually come home one weekend in a month which i feel it aint enough time to spend with my wife and child. I however hope things will change upon receiving this money since i plan to open a shop in the nearby shopping centre and operate in it myself.
