What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I paid secondary school fees for my brother worth 15000 KES and spent the rest of the money on a donkey. Though paying school fees was not in our initial budget, I found it prudent to do so since he had dropped out of school but he would get a brighter future. I longed for a souurce of employment and this is why I bought the donkey that helps me ferry water to villagers at a fee.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had lived longing for a source of income but I never had means of getting one but when I got transfers from Give Directly, I spent on donkeys which is a gainful employment to me-I ferry water to village at a fee and this earns me money catering for my household needs. This is how my life is different than it would have been if I never received transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, what Give Directly does well is that it is more reliable and sends us money honestly as earlier promised. But I was not contented with the fact that the transfers short lived. I would urge it be resumed so that we may get it for a little longer.
