Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
When I received the cash transfer I had to prioritize my plans. I paid of debts and purchased electrical equipment for my incomplete salon. I am glad that I was able to establish the salon business that is now earning daily income. Previously, I was stranded and unable to start operating the salon due to lack of finance.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very excited. I sat down and planned on how to spend the cash transfers considering that I had a lot priorities.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the first cash transfer to pay a debt worth UGX700000. I then bought household items such as bed sheets, utensils, curtains, a chair all worth UGX200000. I spent UGX500000 on wiring the salon and UGX300000 on buying the electrical equipment.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means paying off a debt I incurred during the time of marrying my wife. I borrowed three cows that need to be paid. In our tradition, a man is expected to pay bride price to the girl's family as an appreciation for proper up bringing of the child. In case of any balance, I will start up a small business that will be south of income to the household for paying school fees, feeding, paying medical bills, to mention. This will improve on my household's social status and my self esteem.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am free, I go out to the centre to socialize with friends that makes me happy. It's on the centre when I receive all the news about what ever happened within and put side the village.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is that, I do not own any income generating business which makes my life miserable. I depend on farming but it is very unpredictable due to poor weather conditions and pests /diseases which affect crops giving rise to poor yields. The poor harvest/yields does not in any way improve on saving due to competing demands. As a result, I went into debts that are giving me a heavy burden to clear and stress that comes from debts.
