What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Receiving this money means investing for my children's future. 5 goats ($300) is a good store of wealth with expected double returns per year. In about three years time, two of my children will be joining secondary school and I will be financially stable enough to pay their fees.
What is the happiest part of your day?
A week ago, one of my sons sat for his final exam to complete his secondary education. After 4 years of working hard to pay his fees, I am finally happy and relieved that the burden has been lifted off my back.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I operate a small business of selling fish. After collecting them from fishermen, I deepfry and pack them for my customers in nearby towns. Due to economic strains, business has been poor this year and I did not make enough sales to sponsor my children's education. As a result, I have been forced to take loans to supplement my income in order to pay school fees. Since I have not repaid the loans, I am worried that my children's education for next year will be in jeopardy.
