What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a portion of the transfer to pay my son in secondary school fee. I used a larger portion of the remaining transfer to complete my house which I commenced building with the second transfer. Bought 3 sheep. Besides, I purchased other household items with the rest of the transfer.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I now have a stable house. My former house was at the verge of going down but couldn't establish a better one due to financial inadequacy.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what GD does well is giving us cash to arrest our problems since different people have different needs and wants. At the moment, I'm not aware of what GD doesn't do well.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of my second transfer on buying building materials which was used to build my family anew house as the previous was was destroyed by rains and almost crumbling down.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is having a more secure house, we can now rest our worries about the house crumbling down on us.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on secondary school fee (7,000 KES) for my child who was then able to resume classes, and also bought dry maize grain for family consumption (3,000 KES).
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money, I felt great happiness within me because my child who had not yet reported to school due to lack of school fee could go back to class, and we could buy food too.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Firstly, we plan to use part of the transfer to pay school fees for our child, who is in secondary school in form three, and also pay college fee for another son. Secondly, we intend to use another part of the transfer to build a new house, because this one is in a bad condition. Lastly, we plan to use the remaining amount to plough our farms for food security.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement we are very proud of is, having been able to educate our son up to form four, and currently paying school fees for the one in form three.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we have faced is, paying school fees for our child in secondary school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evenings, when we are having supper together as a family.
