Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I now sleep on a bed with a new mattress and bed sheet. I am having comfortable night sleep that has made me very happy. Prior to receiving this transfer, I didn't own a bed and I slept on an old mattress with torn bed sheets. Secondly, I have acquire most of the needed materials for constructing a permanent house and I intend to start construction with my second transfer.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received a mobile money message at around 6:00 am and when I checked, it was notifying me that I had received money from GiveDirectly. I became very happy because I had got money to use for constructing a permanent house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase 7 pieces of iron sheets, 3 trips of bricks, timber and 5 bags of cement that I intend to use for constructing a permanent house. Further more, I bought a mattress, a bed, bed sheets and curtains

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build a small iron roofed house that can just be enough for me and my children being a single parent. I also hope to buy a cow that can reproduce and support me in taking care of some eventualities that may arise in the future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when my children are healthy and they are playing. I do not have to budget for medical bills and besides, their happiness is my happiness because they are part of me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is taking care of the needs of my children alone as a single parent. I do casual labour most of the time so as to earn some money that supports me and my children.
