Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to buy a tailoring machine for my daughter who already trained. This is also one way in which I am trying to find employment for her so that she can sustain her family as well.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I have been able to fully pay for children’s school fees. I am now a stress-free parent after ensuring I have completed school fee payment for them. Unlike before where they were being sent back every time, I feel that I have done the best by ensuring the same do not occur.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In six months’ time, I expect to have already saved enough money and would have bought a tailoring machine for my daughter who just completed technical training in tailoring. This way, I will be happy as a father seeing my daughter earn an income of her now that employment opportunities this country has always proved hard to get.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I have been able to build a house for my family. The one we were previously living in was grass thatched and replacing the old roof every year is always costly. At times, our clothes and beddings would get soaked in rainwater during rainy seasons when I did not have money to renovate the roof. I am now glad since my family is now living comfortably in our newly built house.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The additional goal for my life for the next four months is to buy a water tank. I will use the savings I will be given in our group to achieve this. In addition to this, I am planning to buy a heifer in order to increase the number of dairy cows which I own.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have been able to buy four goats for rearing. It has always been my dream to invest in dairy farming and since buying a dairy cow is expensive, I decided to be buying goats since they are cheaper and they reproduce within a shorter period. When they reproduce and increase in number, I will sell them and use the money to buy a dairy cow and add it into my herd of livestock.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, my life will have changed from how it is now because I will have bought a water tank for my family. My wife will no longer be walking for a long distance looking for water for domestic use. In addition to this, I believe that I will have bought a heifer. I will be saving the money I will be getting through the sale of milk so that I can use it to achieve this. Increasing the number of dairy cows has always been my dream as it will lead to an increase in my income through the sale of the surplus.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have savings in merry go round group as I use a part of the transfers in the group. This was not the case four months ago as my small income form the job I do as a house caretaker is barely enough for food. I am also able to pay school fees for my children and even provide food using a part of the money I receive on a monthly basis. without Giedirectly, I would not be saving any money and at the same time, I would still be struggling too hard to pay school fees. As for food, I am sure we could still be skipping some of the daily meals because I would still be relying only on my casual job.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I don't have any goals as I will spend the money on the needs that come along the way as I get the money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is the livestock I own as a result of the transfers. I used the money to buy goats that I now keep as an investment. The goats have multiplied and I now have 8 in total. I can get money any time I have a major need as I can sell it to raise the money. This has given me a sense of financial security.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I will have bought a dairy cow and will also have leased another piece of land to add to what I currently cultivate. This two will be additional sources of income to what I currently have.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I ever faced is in the year 2000 when all my 20 cattle died due to drought, I was so saddened by the situation because that it was the only source of income for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening after a successful day, that is when we share meals with my family as we crack jokes.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to save the transfer in Mshwari and later use it as an initial capital for posho mill business.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
I am proud with my cattle business growth, I rear cattle and later sell them out. I started this business with very small amount of capital which I had borrowed from my friend. So far its profit has amazed me because it enabled me to educate my three children, two in secondary and the other in primary school.
