How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different in that I now live in a new house which is iron roofed which I would not have built had it not been for support from GiveDirectly. Also, I wouldn't have succeeded in buying a cow which is now beneficial to the family. My children would still be wearing torn old clothes but the support gave us breakthrough.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I think supporting people through unconditional cash transfers which is the solution to problems that people have is the best thing that GiveDirectly endeavored to do. Nothing can be recorded as having done wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the transfer in procurement of building materials which was used in building my house. I was living in a grass thatched house which needed replacement. It posed great risk in terms of diseases since it was raining through it. The money gave us energy to rethink on how best we can sorr out the issue and for sure it was successful. I also bought a cow which is our source of milk for my family and also source of income when sold. I also spent some amount in buying clothes for my children since by then, they were wearing torn, and old clothes which make them laughong stock in the village and even at school.
