How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago since I now have a water tank. My family no longer walk for a long distance to fetch water as I can collect water during the rainy season and use it during the dry season. This has made my family especially my children so happy because they know that they will not be going to the river to fetch water.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The only goal I now have is to complete paying for this water tank since I took it on higher purchase terms and it will take me the whole year to complete paying for it. I decided to buy it on higher purchase terms since I could not afford to pay the whole amount. I knew that it would be easy for me to pay this money on monthly installments using my transfers.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I now own a water tank unlike before. My family used to walk for a long distance to fetch water for household and livestock use. They were forced to fetch water on a daily basis even during the rainy season since I had nothing to store water. I am now glad that I own this tank and my family will no longer walk for a long distance to fetch water during the rainy season.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that my family will not be going to the river to fetch water during the rainy season. I bought this tank recently and I have not used it since it has not rained. I will use it to store water during the rainy season and it will save my family the time they would have otherwise used going to fetch water and spend it on doing something else. I have been buying vegetables during the dry season and I believe that this will be different this year. I will be using this water to irrigate my vegetables during this season hence I will have enough supply for my family.

Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
My new goal is to take a loan together with my wife for paying my child's school fees.I will service the loan using my money from the transfer we receive with my wife from GIveDirectly.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I spent all my money in the hospital where my wife was admitted. Therefore, i have not realized any difference as such apart from saving me from felling my trees to sell in order to meet the hospital costs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to have changed since my wife is healed .my wife will have completely recovered and we will then take a loan together and pay school fees for my daughter in college.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I used the money i received from GveDirectly to cater for hospital expenses of my wife who was sick.she was admitted in the Tenwek Hospital.Considering that i would have had to borrow money to spend this way,the biggest difference is that i am not in any debt owed to any one regarding the hospital bill.
