How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My greatest achievement so far with the transfers is having plastered our entire house which was previously made of mud. Since last year, we have been saving most of our transfers which eventually enabled us to buy the required materials and finally plastered and beautifully painted the house.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Currently, I have one child in secondary school and another one who just joined college. Paying school fees for these kids is the only focus I have now hence no additional goals.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
We managed to plaster our house which was initially made of mud which has brought a very big difference in my daily life because we now live in a dust-free environment which is also beneficial to out overall healths. The house generally looks so beautiful from far and has had many people wondering if I am also receiving the same from Give Directly as they are which makes me quite proud.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Now that I am unable to invest on anything else with my transfers other than paying school fees for my children, I do not expect any much change in my life in the next six months. I only expect to have it easy paying for the school fees because I know it would be tough without the transfers due to low income.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different from how it was four months ago in that I was able to pay school fees for my son. I normally strain my self by doing several casual jobs a day in order to save something to pay for his school fees. Even after working this hard its usually not enough and they end up sending him home. It is very frustrating to see him being sent home although I usually have no otherwise but to try harder to make sure he goes back on time. I am glad this time I won't have to overwork my self because I managed to pay his school fees using the transfers sent to me by Give Directly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My next goal is to fence my compound. I have always had issues with my neighbors over the past few years. It always feels bad when someone's chicken and cattle raid your farm and destroy all the crops. I used to feel bad but later realized that I was part of that problem. I am hopeful that fencing my home will be part of the solution.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life in the last four months is that I was able to pay school fees for my son. My son is very hard working and always performs well despite being sent home due to school fees arrears. I always felt like I was letting him down because he would miss lessons and was forced to strain himself in order to catch up with his classmates. When I got the chance to pay the fees I didn't hesitate because I value his education and I wouldn't want to be the reason for him to fail
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months because I will have fenced my home. This will solve many issues that we are currently facing. I will finally be at peace with my neighbors and the peaceful coexistence means will be able to grow and develop each other in a different way. I also believe that my harvest will increase because they will not have been interfered with by the cattle from the neighborhood.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was because I was able to achieve most of my goals. I was able to do a lot of development which my neighbours could not imagine I could have achieved. For instance, I was able to cement my house which looks decent nowadays and took my child in a boarding school. To my neighbours, it is only the rich people who can afford to take their children to a boarding school and had cemented their floors. I feel like a hero after accomplishing these goals. Thanks to GiveDirectly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to fence my compound. I want to make my home look more appealing. Apart from that, I want to safeguard my backyard from being raided by the neighbour's fowls. It usually leads to bad relationships and holding grudges because they end up destroying my crops. One usually feels wasted after the long hard work especially if you depend on the farm produce to survive. I want to be at peace with all of them and I know that this is one of the ways that I can achieve the goal.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I am hopeful and proud of myself because I managed to cement my house. My house looks good. Previously, It used to be untidy because a mud-walled house wears off so fast making it look old an ugly. It also gave my wife a tedious job since she had to smear it most of the time which took most of her time. Now she spends that time to do other meaningful chores like farming.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I will have started a profitable business. I am thinking of opening a retail shop since we are far from the town centers. I believe it is a good business that will earn me enough money to boost my wages which I normally get from the manual jobs. When this dream actualizes I will be able to take care of my pressing needs easily.
