What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on constructing an extra room to accommodate my grandchildren and any other visitor who may have stayed for long. Initially I had to seek for accommodation from the neighborhood whenever such situations arose, something that brought a lot of shame on me. I got disgusted by the fact that the same neighbors went round the village speaking ill about me and the people they accommodated on my behalf.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Were it not for the transfers, my life would have been very pathetic. The life I lived before involved a lot of frustrations and sufferings that no single man would wish to live. I depended entirely on relatives for any support I needed which most of them could not be acquired.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, am so pleased with the manner in which Give Directly does its operations. The fact that Give Directly sends cash directly to recipients instead of involving the local administration in the transfer process. This has always ensured that corruption is completely done away with.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used 11000 KES from my second transfer to hire a tractor to plough my farm since cultivation by hand is tedious and time consuming. I then constructed a kitchen which doubles as a sleeping area for some of my children, and plastered it, since I had no kitchen before. The balance was all spent on dry maize and other foodstuffs since my family did not have enough to eat.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I got my farm ploughed, so I don't have to go through the hardship of cultivating by hand.I also have enough food for my family and I am really grateful to Give Directly.
