Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
There is a big difference in my life because I no longer offer casual labor because I have my own money. GiveDirectly has empowered me to get farm land that I have cultivated a variety of crops (cassava, ground nuts and maize) and I am hopeful of getting good harvest. Before I got money I had a small piece of land the limited my farming ability.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I become so happy. I was in bed trying to take a rest because I was feeling sick but on seeing the message I became better and sleep just disappeared. It was my first time to receive much money. I prayed to get this money because I had so many challenges but God has seen me through.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for buying a cow at UGX 500,000, a mattress at UGX 100,000, I saved UGX 850,000. The balance of the money was used for buying clothes, food, a bag and for treating my child.

The happiest part of the day is evening hours while at the borehole, I chatt with friends and neighbours. This relaxes my mind.

The biggest hardship I face is difficulty in providing basic needs to my child since Iam a single mother.
