What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I renovated my main house and spent the remaining 7500 KES on 5 sheep. I am glad that I live in my home.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life different than it would have been if I never received the transfer because, I have moved from my parents home to my own home. I have realized that in my home, I am able to develop more easily without any restriction. And again, I have acquired more wealth inform of livestock that has increased my assets.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, what Give Directly does well is that it is more transparent but it could be good if it considered giving out money on a monthly basis/ regular as opposed to sending it in lumpsum.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I am now financially empowered because I was able to start a small kiosk business with my first transfer.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on purchasing a bag of maize for the family consumption and used most of the amount on starting a shop business to get income.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the money I was very happy and stress free because I had visitors hence had to organise myself before the visit. I just thatnked the Lord since the money was sent at the right time.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Firstly, we intend to use part of the transfer to build a bigger house with four rooms, on our piece of land, so that we have our own home. Secondly, we plan to use another part of the transfer to buy a cow, that would provide us with milk for family use. Lastly, we plan to use the remaining amount to start grain-selling business, for family income.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement we are very proud of is, having paid dowry to my parents.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Providing food for our family, is the biggest hardship we have faced, due to inadequate income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoons, when I'm resting after returning from my casual work.
