Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Before receiving my transfers, I used to buy milk on a daily basis and it was so expensive. This is now in the past as the cow I bought using my transfers is giving me enough milk to use. This has made my husband start saving some money something he has never done before. Owning a cow is the biggest thing that has ever happened in my life and it has totaly changed my daily life in so many different ways.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was preparing breakfast when my husband gave me my phone claiming that I had some unread messages. Upon checking them I realized that one of the messages indicated that I had received some money from GiveDirectly. At that instant, I became so happy and I started singing happily until my husband came back to check what was happening to me. I then informed him that we had received the money GiveDirectly had promised us. We then met as a whole family in our living room to thank God for His blessings which He had showered unto us on that day.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have been buying milk on a daily basis and this is quite expensive since I am a housewife and I only depend on money brought in by my husband. This has been straining him a lot as he also has to pay our children's school fees and he does not have a stable source of income as he only depends on some casual work. When I received my first transfers, I used part of it in buying a dairy cow so that it will save us the expense of buying milk. I used the remaining amount in the purchase of a water tank so that I can use it to store water. This will save me the time I usually use going to fetch water daily as I will now be fetching it once a week.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this cash transfer means that I'll be able to buy a dairy cattle and a water tank- to store water since it is a very rare commodity in this area. This will enable me practice irrigation farming. Thank you so much GD.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I wake up feeling fine, energized and ready to partake on my daily chores.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My dream of becoming a teacher did not materialize due to my parents' inability to cater for my school fees. As a result, I had to drop out of school and since then life has been so tough on me that I have to really struggle in order to meet ends need for my family. For me this is the biggest hardship I have ever experienced.
