How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different because I sleep, eat and dress well. Before, I couldn't afford good beddings, a balance diet and new clothes for my family. In addition, the ox I bought has simplified my cultivation as opposed to the past when I had to hire oxen to plough my farm land.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
According to me, GiveDirectly has done wonders in my life because they sent me the unconditional transfers that have completely turned my life around. There is nothing bad that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I decided to buy a cow, beddings and food with part of my second transfer. I have saved Ugx 500000 that I intend to use for weeding my crops and buying food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest differnce in my daily life is that, my self esteem has been elevated because I now own a bull and have some land for crop cultivation which will provide enough food for the household.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my first cash transfer, I felt happy because my plan of buying a bull and acquiring additional land for crop cultivation had been sorted. Before I received my first cash transfer, I used to go begging for bulls in order to plough land which would some times happen very late hence poor yields.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my cash transfer worth UGX 700,000 for buying a bull in order to support in ploughing. I lent UGX 1,000,000 to my neighbour in exchange for an acre of land until it is paid back.
