Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal for the next four months is to be able to continue taking part in the merry go round which is a very good savings plan for me that will see me buy a wheelbarrow and make my work easier at the quarry and make more income in the long run. I also intend to cultivate my land in time within the next four months and plant food crops that will see me be food sufficient. I also have plans of practicing diversified farming by using the oxen that I already have to improve my farming and farm produce.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life that has occurred over the last four months is the cost of meeting the daily needs that has proven to be so affordable to me and my family. This has enabled me to have the energy to engage more in my daily casual jobs at the quarrying sites that has seen me make more income as well. In the past I could fail to go to the quarry because we did not have enough food hence lack of energy to do the strenuous job at the quarry. Moreover, I have been able to pay school fees for my children in time and without fail all this while. The merry go round that I have been taking part in is meant to empower me even the more in the coming days in that I shall be able to buy the necessary tools to make my work easier at the quarry and ultimately increase my income. Many thanks to GiveDirectly and their support.

Apart from that, I was also able to cultivate my land and still met my other pressing responsibilities. I was able to plant millet since maize hasn't been doing well for the past two seasons. We had a poor harvest last season and providing food for my family has been a struggle. I am glad I now have a back-up plan such that even if I fail to get a casual job, my children won't sleep hungry.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the next six months is that, once I have bought a dairy cow for rearing, I will now focus on investing in intensive potatoes and vegetable farming. How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life has currently changed compared to the last four months since I can comfortably pay school fees and my children are feeding well. I also have a long term plan to purchase a piece of land. I have a vegetable project going on which is a good show of development and if all goes well the harvest from this vegetable project will enhance my next project of purchasing a piece of land.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have always had a dream to be a great farmer in our village. The only one way I have been thinking of doing that is by obtaining certified carbage sees from any agro-vet around so that I can plant them first on the nursery and later transplant the seedlings to the farm. Since I have cleared paying the debts I had, I have that as my new goal and I will ensure that I complete it in the next four months. A packet costs 3000 KES and it would only take me three months after transplanting before Iharvesting.

Befeore enrollemnt in GiveDirectly, I was having a lot od debt which i was really taking alot of time to pay. i had a very few sources of income which was not allowing me to cover the debts as well as serving my daily family needs. I had to work up to the odd hours o the day in order to ensure that my household get enough food for the day and this would ensure that I did not borrow more. When I was enrolled I was happy that at least the borrowing mentality i had would come to an end. we had to seat down with my wife and eveluate the amount of debt we had and promised oursselves to ensure that we clear i the first few months of transfer. Tha is exactly what we did we are now debt-free which isthe biggest difference in my daily life. we are abe The biggest difference in my daily life is the timely payment of bills. school fees and also purchasing of household foods.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
As per the great plans, I have at the moment, I have great hopes that by the end of six months I would have accomplished most of my goals, among them being the vegetable project which will guide me to purchasing a piece of land. My expectation in the next six months is to have fully purchased that piece of land and I will only be left with the construction work.
