Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I can now save the money which I would otherwise use in buying water and the ones I get from the sale of milk unlike before when I only used to spend them. This is because I was able to connect piped water and my cattle are now get enough water daily. This has led to increased milk production and I can now sell some of them and get some money to use.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 7.50 am when I was taking breakfast with my family when I received a message indicating that I had received some money from GiveDirectly. At that moment, I became so happy and informed my family that we should pray to thank God for the blessings that just came in and to bless where it came from. I then informed my husband to get ready so that he can go and withdraw the money since we had already planned for it and I was eager to start actualizing our plans.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
There has been prolonged famine in our region which had led to the death of animals due to lack of enough feeds and water. This led to people opting to buy water and it was costly since one had to buy them and pay for its transportation. When I received my first transfers, I spent part of it in connecting piped water. I used the remaining amount in dividing my farm into small paddocks so that I will use this area to graze my cattle.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I cleared form four in 2006 and wish to proceed to college but i have not done so. This money may not be able to clear my tuition fees but i will invest it in poultry farming and i will then use the proceeds to pay for my college tuition fee.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My usual day involves waking up in the morning then prepare my children to go to school after which i begin tilling my farm. In the morning, i feel happy knowing that my children are leaving for school happy and healthy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
When i cleared my secondary school studies, my father passed away and because he was the bread winner i could not proceed with my studies so i got married. I have always been optimistic that i will one day proceed with my studies but my three children who have already started school may hinder me from doing so.
