How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different from how it was because I am now financially stable. I used to entirely depend on my siblings and children. I was fond of asking the most basic items that even the poorest person can afford. I feel good because moving forward I won't be bothering them more often like I used to do a few months ago.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to buy sheep. I plan to buy a sheep because I don't have any asset at the moment. A sheep is the only asset I can afford at the moment. I have a rented calf which belongs to my sister. I will like to have my own because she can come for it at any time. I know that once I buy one sheep I will be secure. Even if my sister takes that calf, I have something I can hold on to whenever an emergency arises.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
My failing eyesight which happened some time back brought a lot of things to a standstill in my life. I was a renowned entrepreneur dealing with cereals of different kinds. I had to leave the business when the infections in my eyes got intense. Taking care of my primary and secondary needs became difficult as a result of this. Providing three meals a day for my family was a problem. Today, I have a different story to tell. The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I can easily provide most of the basic needs for my family. All these have been possible because of the help which I receive from GiveDirectly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the next six months is to ensure that I buy sheep. I have already started saving my monthly income and I am hopeful that I will have accumulated enough money to buy the sheep. I target to have three of them because they will provide enough manure which will ensure I get healthy crops.

The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have been able to invest in farming. I bought hybrid seeds and also paid laborers to help me plow the farm. At my old age, this is a struggle so I have to hire workers to help me do the work. Without the transfers, this would not have been possible.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
With the use of hybrid seeds, I am looking forward to a good harvest and this will help me increase my income and also create wealth for me.
