What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer to buy a bull for ploughing. I spent some amount to buy timber, nails which I have used to build my house and the remaining amount, I spent to pay laborers.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I would not have received the transfer, I would not have bought livestock which I now have and also I would not have built a three roomed house. Thank you GD for the transfer
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well in sending us transfers which enabled us to uplift our living standards. GiveDirectly did not do well in sending transfers to all who were enrolled.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy building materials that I am planning to use to build a new house. At the moment I stay in a single room that is too squeezed to accommodate my family. I also spent some part of the transfer to add stock to my business, selling in general shop stocking goods on retail. I no longer sleep hungry like I used to when I had very few stocks in my shop. At least now my profits have increased.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am able to feed my children everyday and they do not have to go to bed on empty stomach again. Thanks to GiveDirectly. I am so grateful.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on purchase of additional stock for my groceries business that I run from home (6,000 KES), and bought dry corn for food (3,500 KES).
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when the text message came my phone was being charged and so it was not until my child brought it back later that I saw the message. I felt a healing deep inside me because I was badly in need of additional stock for my business yet my working capital was low, but God remembered me and here was the capital I needed at last!

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Our first plan is to use part of the transfer to build a bigger mud house with three rooms. Secondly, we intend to use another part of the transfer to boost the stock of my small business, by stocking more items like sugar, milk, flour and others. Lastly , we plan to use the remaining amount to buy a cow, that would provide us with milk, and also a bull, as an investment for our family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement we are very proud of is, having bought a cow, with savings from the sale of rice that we cultivated.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we have faced is, inadequate income to build a bigger house, because this one is too small.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evenings, when I'm having supper together with my spouse.
