Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to save and buy cow as my future investment since cows are long term investment whereby it will help my family in future more so to my grandson who is an orphan. I will also continue investing in farming as my main source of income.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that since I started receiving the cash transfer I am able to work on my farm with ease since I am able to hire people to work on my farm as compared to before when I would use my own hand to work on my farm. This was leading to cultivating a very small portion of land and I was getting very little yield that could not sustain me until the next season. But now I am able to cultivate a very big land because I can hire people to do it and I am sure of getting enough yield.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months l expect to have saved and bought a cow as my long term investment. The will help me if future when I have emergency.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I am now more ambitious in life than I have ever been. The assurance of getting a monthly income has enabled me to plan ahead and manage my finances wisely. This is quite different from the past where I was not even sure of where or whether I could earn anything since I worked as a casual laborer. Depending on casual jobs can be tough at times since one can miss to secure one and may even sleep hungry on such days. The fact that I had health issues that limited the amount of work I could do also made life so difficult for me. I thank God for the GiveDirectly transfers that came to relieve me from all these stresses and brought peace into my life.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new and additional goal is to start saving money in order to fulfill a traditional rite as per our norms and culture. I plan to have a memorial service for my three sons who passed on.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Most of my neighbors had moved away from using paraffin as a source of light in their homes. I often felt jealous about this and had the desire of owning one of my own for our home. However, I was not able to actualize this until I received money from GiveDirectly. Having the lantern and being able to pay for the solar charges at once has brought a big difference in my life because I no longer have to use the extra cash that I get to buy paraffin each day. I am also not in a hurry to switch off the lights overnight and this has greatly improved the security of our compound. The solar-powered battery has just changed our lives in a really positive way.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect that I shall have already conducted the memorial service for my three sons. This will give me peace in my heart once I accomplish this and make me happy having accomplish this rite for them.

The biggest difference in my daily life in the past four months is that I am able to take milk everyday as I was advised by my doctor for my diabetic condition . I can also get all meals in a day which also helps me with my drugs and I am glad I do not get sick frequently as I did in the past.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months I expect to have a plastered floor. At the moment my floor has a lot of holes which makes it look really bad. I am too old and sickly that I cannot smear it with cow dung as I used to. Plastering my floor with cement will make it look beautiful and also a long term solution from frequent smearing.
