What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on boosting my bar and restaurant business in our shopping center. At least we are able to get daily income. The other bit ,I spent on paying school fees for my orphaned nieces and nephews in college and secondary school. The remaining amount I spent on food for my family consumption.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I have managed to build a four roomed house and move out of the one roomed house that could not comfortably accommodate my family. It could have taken me a lot of time to make this done. GiveDirectly has made it come sooner.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,GiveDirectly does well by giving unconditional cash to their recipients as they promise. I have not seen anything they do not do well in. I am grateful.

I spent my second transfer on paying 35,000 KES school fee for my three children in the university, bought a lorry of sand at 12,000 KES, then used the rest on food for the house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I don't get sick often as before from the drugs am using daily because I eat well and am less stressed about how to pay school fee for my children.

I spent my first transfer on a bag of corn and food because my household had gone for a week without proper food. I used the balance to pay primary school fees for seven since they had stayed outof school for a while.

I felt relieved and overjoyed when I received my money because I knew all my burdens will be lifted.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
Firstly, we plan to use part of the transfer to pay school fees for our four children in secondary school, and pay levies for three in primary school. Secondly, we intend to use another part of the transfer to buy water pump and dig a borehole, so that we have water at home. Lastly, we plan to use the remaining amount to build a bigger house, with four rooms, because this one is small.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement we are very proud of is, having bought utensils and a cow, with savings from my small business, that I used to do.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship we have faced is, paying school fees for our children in secondary school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoons, when I'm relaxing, after after I have finished the household chores.
