How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
For some years now, I have been longing to buy goats but I could not due to low income and other urgent family needs that needed to be taken care of. Within GiveDirectly's assistance, I have managed to finally buy five goats. I am happy with the progress I have made so far and only hope to achieve more with them after they have reproduced.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well through issuing donations in my community in form of money that had no conditions . Therefore, majority of the beneficiaries focused on spending the money on their most pressing needs which in turn lead to an increase in the economy of the entire community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer to renovated the roof of my house which was leaking . I am happy that nowadays I no longer worry of my house being rained on, mostly in rainy days . I bought three goats and there medications. I paid school fees for my child who is in primary and bought food for my family's consumption as well. I have saved remaining amount.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Having goats in my homestead is the biggest difference in my daily life . I now rear them and since they grow very fast with the capability of reproducing after six months . I intend to sell the offsprings once they are mature. Whenever I have a problem or an emergency, I shall always sell one or two goats and sort whatever issue that was bothering me. Secondly, I am hopeful of having a new spacious house that fits my family comfortably since with the courtesy of GiveDirectly I have bought some of the building materials that will facilitate the construction process.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was awaken by an ring sound for a message notification on my phone . I decided to check it out to confirm the content of the message if it could have been an urgent information . Upon reading it , I felt very happy since GiveDirectly had sent me money . Before , with the intense enrollment process I was doubtful that I would succeed as one of the beneficiaries . After notifying my husband we planned and withdrew the money two days after .
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy 24 pieces of iron sheets , 6 kg of nails. I intend to use these building materials for the construction of my new spacious house since the one we are staying in is small and squeezed . I bought a bed and a mattress , today I get enough rest as compared to before when I had to sleep on a mat at the floor . I also bought two goats ,clothing and food for my family's consumption with the remaining amount .

What does receiving this money mean to you?
A decent house for my family is what receiving this money means to me. Currently, My house is small, leaking and can not fully accommodate us. I am planning to spend $ 200 on purchasing iron sheets and poles in order to construct a respectable house. This will restore the happiness that I have lost for long. I am also planning to use the remaining amount in purchasing oxen to help me in tilling my farm especially at this time when we are experiencing the long rains.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Evening is the happiest part of my day because spending the day healthy with my kids gives me joy and it is at this time that I can prepare a meal for the family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Being a housewife, my only hope is on my husband who is a casual labor "herding cows". This job earns him $30 per month which can not even feed my family of 4 for 3weeks. Skipping meals has been our daily routine since we can only afford a single meal per day, Something that has affected the nutritional status of my children and I ever pray that they do not get sick because I have no cash to seek medical care. Therefore lack of financial resources is the biggest hardship in my life.
