Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt extremely happy the moment I received my money. This is because at the time my wife was sick and we had no money to take her for proper treatment. However, when we got that transfer it was immediately used for her treatment.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the feeliing of free expression. This is because I was able to buy a boat that I will use as one of my fishing tools. This will be my source of income to sustain my family. Prior to buying my personal boat, I used to sail with other fishers and they made fun of me being just a dependant on them. With my own boat, I will be an employer yo some of them.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my first transfer for buying households items such as utensils, clothes, mattress and bed. I also spent some of my money to treat my wife who was sick at the time the transfer was sent. I bought a boat that I will be using to fish. I lastly bought an ox plough.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to buy oxen and an ox plough that will support in cultivation hence improving food production in my home. I believe life will be better in my home as opposed to the past and current standard of living where by I have had to go without food in some days.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the noon time when I am seated with other members of the family. This keeps me off the worries of life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is sickness. My wife is very sickly and this never gives us the opportunity to save any money because paying medical bills is just a recurrent activity.
