How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I have developed in my home. I sleep well in my permanent structure and I eat well (healthy ) compared to before when I used to sleep under a leaking roof. I could not have built my permanent structure if I never received the transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done well by helping us the original residents of the village to benefit. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have spent my second transfer on purchasing building materials iron sheets at UGX 145,000, timber at UGX 49,000, nails at UGX 18,000, wire mesh at UGX 9000, ventilator at UGX 6000, cement at UGX 140,000, labour at UGX 80,000, bought Livestock at UGX 640,000, bought household goods (curtains) at UGX 230,000, food (beans) at UGX 70,000 and the recipient used 46000 to buy things she did not remember. There is a balance of UGX 200,000 which I plan to spend on food.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that i have constructed a good house since I used to sleep under licking whenever its rains.

The moment I received my money, I almost ran mad with happiness.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase Iron sheets at 290,000ugx, timber at 100,500ugx, cement at 348,000ugx, sand at 190,000ugx, door 155,000ugx, construction labor 300,000ugx, other construction materials at 12500ugx, food at 38,000ugx, Transport at 40,000ugx. The balance of the money I plan on renting land for agriculture.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My plan is to use the transfers for buying a cow and building a permanent iron-roofed house. This cow will inturn provide milk for my household.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest moments is always evenings when iam chatting with neighbours.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i face is poverty. This because iam HIV/AIDS victim which makes not able to engage much in to agriculture that could provide food for myself.
