What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on a lorry of sand in preparation for building (7,000 KES), 3 sheep (9,000 KES),3 bags of dry corn for consumption (10,000 KES), 4 sets of school uniform and shoes for my orphaned grandchildren (4,000 KES) as well as 2 blankets and a mattress (9,000 KES). The rest of the cash I am still saving to help me build a house when I am ready.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that my family is getting enough to eat, my grandchildren are learning comfortably snce they have everything that they need. In addition,the sheep I bought have started multiplying and consequently I will soon have wealth.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has lifted the lives of poor people especially in housing.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
We have planned to rebuild our house which is very old and the remaining amount we will use it to buy a cow that we will be milking.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The proudest achievement is that we have taken all our children upto secondary school and they are now doing small jobs.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship was losing my two daughters whom I had taken upto college. They had just started working as teachers but death cut them short.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of our day is when we have something to eat with other grandchildren.
