How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I got a whole testimony to make about my life. The transfers have just made a total turn around in my life. I have been able to make various investments but one significant one that i will never forget is that of changing from being a casual labourer to being self employed. Before the transfers came, i used to engage in casual labour to earn a living. This gave me very little income that could only sustain us as a family. I now have a sewing machine, a shop and two dairy cows that have made my days busy and more productive. My sense of pride as a responsible parent has been renewed. I am so much indebted to Give directly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly did well in fulfilling their promise of sending us the total transfers. I do not have any reservations on the way Give directly conducted themselves with their operations in my area.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer in buying a dairy cow for the household. This, I did with an aim of making sure that my family will have a balanced diet going forward. The proceeds from milk produced by this cow shall be used in making sure that my family feeds well and stay healthy going forward. I also bought a sewing machine to help me further raise my income. I now keep myself busy with the sewing machine to raise more income that goes a long way in helping me provide for my family. The remaining amount was used in restocking my small general shop that is operated by my husband at home. My life has just really changed and am generally happy about Give directly transfers.
