Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My additional goal for the next four months is to be able to buy a dairy cow and build a new house for my family. I am already saving from my business which is doing quite well as at now and I am optimistic that I will be able to buy the dairy cow within the said four months. As for the new house, I have already bought relatively enough trees that will be used to make timber and by the end of these four months, I shall have started building the house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I used all of my second transfer to improve my business that was already running. I was selling shoe laces, rubber soles and in soles at Mulot market next to my home. My target customers were high school students and locals who needed my goods. My stock was however very little and this made me earn very little profits as little as KES 200 per day. This was way too little for me and I had always looked forward to increasing the stock and consequently increasing the levels of profits made. It was not until I received money from GiveDirectly that I improved my business and made enormous profits. I now make between KES 600 to KES 800 per day on a good day. This has been the biggest difference in my daily life over the last four months.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect my life to change in that I shall have already completed the construction of my new house. I also expect to have acquired a dairy cow from the savings that I am currently making. All these are in a quest to make sure that I raise the living standards of my family and make them happy. Many thanks to GiveDirectly for enabling me realize dreams that I never thought I could realize anytime soon. expect to have already built my new house. bought the dairy cow and have a generally happier family and invest more in education for my children.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Losing my mother at a younger age is the biggest hardship I've faced in life. Being the only child and Dad suffering from polio( terminal illness), life has been unbearable. I had to drop out of school because there was no support at all.

Morning is the happiest part of my day because for me a new day means a fresh start: an opportunity to improve my life.

Am planning to spend my transfer on house construction and purchase of a diary cow. Currently I am using a temporary shelter and with GD money, I will be in a position to put up a semi-permanent house.

Putting up a Barber shop is an achievement am proudest of in my life. Since I started it, my family has never lacked anything. The money that I invest in my farm come from that business.
