How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now in that having received this money, I was able to fully complete my house. This is in terms of plastering and beautifying it compared to before when the house was too dusty and it harbored rodents causing illness such as flu every now and then. In addition to that, my life has currently improved in that because I am able to afford most necessities such as an education for my children, food, among others. Before getting this transfer, I had to do casual labor that really could not raise enough money to handle the expenses.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money that has enabled me to meet most of my needs such as having my house renovated, acquire assets among others. In my opinion however, GiveDirectly has done absolutely nothing bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy a cow, some household items such as bed, three mattresses, and bed sheets. I then bought some 10 bags of cement and pay labor that I used to plaster my house. Paid school fees for my children and lastly hired labor that is helping to weed my crops.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life is totally different in that, my health has improved. In the past, my health deteriorated due to stress over how to get money for completing my house and meeting family needs like clothing and fees for my children. In addition, the dust in the house used to infect me and the family with flu.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I was very happy because I didn't have a genuine source of income.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part of my first transfer to fix cement on the floor and plaster my permanent house. Therefore, I used Ugx 1300000 on materials like cement, sand, bricks, spade, wheel barrow among others. I'm planning to spend the balance on household items and groundnut seeds.
