Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now own five sheep unlike before. Since their gestation period is shorter, they will increase in number within a shorter period of time. Whenever I have an emergency, I can easily sort it out because they can be sold easily at any time since it is not costly like a cow and their market is always readily available.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around seven o'clock in the morning when I received two consecutive messages. Upon reading them to know its contents, I was filled with happiness as one of the messages was from Mpesa indicating that I had received the money I had been waiting from GiveDirectly. This money gave me hope that I would be able to accomplish my plan of investing in sheep.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I own one cow and the milk I usually get is only enough for my family consumption hence I cannot sell even one litre. When I received my first transfer, I decided to spend part of it to buy a cow. With this, I will be able to sell some milk in future hence making dairy farming the alternative source of my income. Since sheep have a shorter gestation period compared to cows, I decided to use part of my money to buy five of them. They will increase in number within a short period of time and whenever I have an emergency I can easily sell one of them. I used the remaining amount to lease a tractor to till my farm and in buying maize seeds and fertilizers. I used the remaining amount to lease a tractor to till my farm and to buy maize seeds. I opted on this because it was planting season in my region and I was the only person who had not planted since I did not have money to even buy farm inputs.

This year, our area has been hit by drought and there had been hardly any food for our cows to feed on leading to low milk production. The cows have been our source of income because we sell milk at in tough times we can sell a cow so as to use the money to meet our needs . When
