My life is different in that I no longer work for long hours doing casual works like I used to do before I received the transfers. I have been self employed with my motorcycle and my milk selling business. This has brought so much joy and happiness in my family and I feel proud as a father who is able to meet the needs of my family.

In my opinion GiveDirectly did so well in sensitizing the communities and cultivating the sense of honesty among its beneficiaries. It was pretty interesting to see how they were able to enroll people within our village and doing that in the best way they could by enrolling all the eligible households.

I used part of my second transfer to buy a second hand motorcycle and used the remaining amount to start a small milk selling business. I had always desired to have a motorcycle knowing very well that it would assist me a lot in my daily undertakings. Having this motorcycle has brought some changes in my life. I have been able to use the motorcycle to transport my milk as I supply them to my customers. I am optimistic that I will be able to recover the sum of money used in buying this motorcycle and even make more profits that will improve my livelihood in the long run.

Having our own cow which has already calved down and now producing enough milk was our dream. That is what we ensured that we obtained once we received the transfers. we are no longer buying milk nor taking black tea as we used to do in some months ago because we produce enough milk to use and even sell some to the neighbors. This I can say is the biggest difference in our daily life.

Receiving the money brought the best feeling to the entire family. It was an indication of an answered prayer that we have always prayed that God may open some doors of fortune in our life. I had earlier on promised my children that I will buy them a cow so that they may stop taking black tea. That was the talk of the day in the house and everyone was waiting for that time when I will be uttering a confirmation of what I had promised. We were all happy and to our advantage is that we didn't have to incur any cost in the construction of a new house since I was already having a newly constructed house when we received the transfers. We sat down to plan how best we will subdivide the money and ensure that we meet what we had promised ourselves and majorly what was to be the priority.

For a very long time, my family has been taking strong tea every morning before leaving home for school. This is because we have never had a cow of our own to keep so that we can produce some milk for domestic use. We have not been able also to keep purchasing milk every day to gather for our needs but we have always resorted to the easy and available means-taking black tea. After receiving the transfer, I decided to spend a better part of it in purchasing a heifer which at then was almost calving down. I did this having foreseen the fact that the milk problem we have been having for years will come to an end. Apart from purchasing that heifer, I decided to spend the remaining amount on purchasing four goats and spend the remaining on clothing for my children and also in buying foodstuff.
