How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Looking at the transformation brought about by the transfer, I can attest to the fact that a lot really changed and could not have been possible without the transfer. I managed to construct a new house - spacious enough for my sons to sleep in as well as study in - with the new comfortable furniture that I obtained.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Having been in a hard situation, I had been hoping to fix several issues and GiveDirectly played an excellent role in giving us aid in form of cash. I was glad to receive and had the freedom to plan in a way that suited the problems I had as I was trying my best to see them come to an end. With both transfers, I have always been thankful to GiveDirectly and have never found anything to complain about as everything I had in mind was finally accomplished.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My sons have always been moving out every night after supper in search of a place to sleep since I only have one small house with two rooms that could not accommodate every household member. With the first part of the transfer, I saw it good to dedicate it to the construction of an additional house fully furnished with new furniture useful in their evening studies. After buying 20 iron sheets, I spent part of the remaining amount on paying fees in their respective schools. I also spent 11000KES on buying three goats and the last bit on foodstuff for the household.
