How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Putting my previous life and present life in comparison, I may like to say that my life has really changed. I am living in a small house that cannot accommodate the number of family members comfortably. Sometimes, the thought of owning a decent house sounded like a nightmare because my income was meagre hence saving to actualize this dream was not possible. Currently, my life is different because I have bought some of the building materials which gives me hope that this goal shall come to reality through the facilitation of GiveDirectly's funds.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have no new goal for the next four months because I wish to complete the idea of constructing my new house once and for all. So that I can focus my income on bettering the life of my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I was not able to save my income to buy building materials for building a new house. This is because previously, my income was meager which made it harder to cater to my family's basic needs. Therefore, we had to struggle to stay in a squeezed old shanty with cracked walls since that's where we could afford. Since I started receiving these transfers, I used part of it to buy building materials such as iron sheets which I intend to use in building my own house. The biggest difference in my daily life is that I feel hopeful that when I shall have completed building this new house in my homestead. I will regain the peace that surpasses all human understanding which I have always longed for since I got married.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I shall have bought the required building materials which will facilitate the construction of my new house. This will be a stepping stone that I will forever be thankful to GiveDirectly when it comes to its completion.
