Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
We have decided together with my spouse to save our next transfer so that we would spend it to buy a heifer. We believe that when we got one it will mature after some time and when it lactates we will have milk for consumption and for sale. This would diversify our source of income through the sale of milk.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, we acquired some good beddings which have improved our comfort in our home. After a long day of work, we got to have a good rest. Nowadays, I woke up feeling fresh unlike before when I would experience back pains which would be as a result sleeping on a thin mattress and some piece of clothes on top. Now I have a good mattress and blanket which I bought with the transfers which I received from Give Directly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I would have upgraded my business from selling chicken to selling goats and sheep. This would enable me to earn more profit which would empower me to do much more and meet my daily expenses with less struggle.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
As compared to the past four months, there is really a very big difference in my life currently. At then I never had a new house which I have just completed constructing now; Our search for foodstuff in our household was really hard but now we are producing our own foods on our farms. Before we were buying almost all foods but when we started our farming, we grew a lot of vegetables which we have been consuming as well as selling some. This has really earned us a lot of profit which we use in purchasing other household goods. We are also happy that we art now living comfortably in our newly built house with enough space for us all. All these differences are due to the monthly transfers we have been receiving.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
After completion of the construction of the new house, I have an additional goal to purchase a heifer. We have been buying milk for such a long time and it's a good time now that we start developing our own livestock. I have good fields in our home which can be good for rearing livestock but I have not been able to purchase one. Now that I am receiving transfers from GiveDirectly, I am able to save some money out of it to a point of buying a heifer. In our village, we have some formed groups where members do rotational contributions to individual members. I have joined one of the groups and the rate we are going by is 2000 KES every month. This will help me a great deal when my turn comes since a total contribution to an individual in our group is 14000 KES. this will enable me to realize my goal.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily is the new house which we have constructed in our household. It has been our greatest hope that we find resources to construct a new house since the one we had been living in was too old and small to accommodate the whole family. On receiving GiveDirectly money, I saw it good to start constructing no matter how small it was. I did the construction bit by bit due to the scarcity of resources and I thank God that I am almost done. I started sourcing timber and other woods then bought the iron sheets much later when I was doing the roof. Although it is not fully complete, we are already living in it since we are only left with floors, windows, and. the next phase in my construction is to plaster the floors since I have bought the cement and sand for the same.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Now that I have accomplished the projects which were more crucial to our lives, I have plans to go on working hard to see that I change my life completely. In the next six months, I expect to have purchased a heifer as I have planned now. In addition to that, I have another plan which I want to venture in. This is starting of a small business. Our home area is characterized by shrubs and many members in the village are keeping goats. Starting a business to buy and sell them will be the best fit for me since they are always available for sale and have a ready market. These are the changes I expect to make in the next six months among others.

Initially, I used to depend only on the income from the farm produce. This mostly could be affected by drought thus the income was low.
