What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer in buying fencing materials for my home. My home is now fenced and secure. I also started salon business which I earn daily income.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I could have been unemployed by now and I was also not able to access loans to start a business. I am better of now because I have a business and can comfortably fend for my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly can continue supporting her recipients. Without money we never think of ways that we can improve our lives but access to money allowed us to find ideas of improving our lives.

I am planning to spend my transfer on buying a hair dryer, mirrors, chairs and other equipment to start a hair salon, which I believe will provide me with a sustainable stream of income.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of is supporting my children by paying their school fees and also fending for them, even though life is very difficult.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of money and food. Our area is prone to flooding, and so I can't even grow my own food. So everything here needs money, and I don't have enough of it.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I am making my clients' hair.
