How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Paying for monthly house rent was the most challenging moment of my life. Both my spouse and I didn't have a reliable source of income and the little we earned could barely meet the basic household needs. This left us having a bad blood relation with the landlord because we couldn't pay for the house rent on time. I'm glad I no longer pay for house rent because I was able to construct my house with the help of the GD transfers. In addition to that, I have gained the trust of our local shopkeeper and he is always willing to let me take some of the household items on credit. This because I'm currently able to pay for them on time whenever I receive the GD transfers. This is how different my life currently is from how it was four months ago.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Currently, I do not have a cow. This forces me to budget for milk daily because I have a baby who has to take milk daily which is very expensive. At times she goes without milk whenever I'm not able to afford. I, therefore, have the plans to save the coming transfers so that I can later purchase a dairy cow. This will save me on the cost of milk. It will also allow my baby to get enough milk which is necessary for her growth.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is the trust I have gained from the local shopkeepers around our area. Previously, I didn't have a reliable source of income thus I couldn't be trusted that I'd pay for items borrowed from the shop. Currently, the shopkeepers trust me because they know at the end of the month I'll be able to pay for the items. I'm glad my family no longer miss most of the basic needs.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I'm planning to save part of the coming transfers so that I can later use them to purchase poultry for rearing. Poultry doesn;t require much capital, at the same time, they multiply fast. I'm hopeful that in the next six months I'll have more poultry which I'll later sell in order to raise money for meeting other household needs.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was in that, I eat and dress well. I had started my own business using the transfer which has uplifted my living standard. I no longer beg my neighbor's to offer me casual jobs. I hate doing manual jobs because they are unreliable. I am glad that I can now run my own business where I get atleast income on a daily basis without straining so much.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goals to buy a dairy cow. Dairy cows are the biggest investments one can ever have. I still don't understand why people have not realized that and I want to take advantage of that. I am sure I will succeed because there is no competition. I want to get milk that I can consume and sell some in order to get money and stop depending on casual jobs. I hope that I will find a good cow that will help me meet my goals.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the relief of paying rent. I had been saving for some time now and managed to establish my home two months ago. Previously, I was renting a house. Paying rent is the most draining and frustrating thing because whenever I did not have money the Landlord could remind me that he was almost locking my house. We could disagree most of the time because I could not manage to pay rent on time. Having my own home is a dream come true and I feel at peace more than ever. I really thank GiveDirectly because I would have not achieved this without their help.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the next six months is to have a dairy cow. I want to stop buying milk every day because it is expensive. I also need to generate income by selling milk in my neighborhood. I really feel it is a good business because there are few people doing it in this area at the moment. I want to diligently save for the next six months and make sure that I buy the dairy cow.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I used to struggle so much buying food for my family before I started operating the small scale business which I run in the village. However, right now getting cash to keep the family afloat is such a difficult task like it used to be five months ago.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I expect to save some little cash that will help me in building my own house in the near future because right now I live in a rental house which is quite expensive. My husband and I have decided to save some cash every month so that within the next few months to come, we will have accumulated enough money that will see us through the construction process.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have been able to start my business from scratch within the last five months and I have been able to boost the business to a large extent. The business has been able to sustain my family ever since. I can say that the little cash I normally get from the business is what has kept the family afloat coupled with the monthly transfers my husbands gets every month.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I will have my own house which means I will have moved away from this rental house which will be a big step in my life. I will also plan to keep some domestic animals such as goats which I will rear within the home which is much easier than keeping the animals in a rental house.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am able to afford whatever I lack. I am no longer in debts.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months,I will be staying in my own house. I will never pay rent again.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from how it would have never been had I not received the transfer in that my husband could still be working so hard to raise money and buy the iron sheets. I could still be living in debts too for lack of money to purchase basic items.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
My new goal is to build my own house.Soon I will be moving out of the rented house.
