What did you spend your third transfer on?
I used a portion of the transfer to purchase corns for family consumption. I bought sand which I used to complete my house which I commenced with GD transfer. I'm still having some cash at hand.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that I now have a spacious house. I had a small house but couldn't built a better one due to financial challenges.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD does well by giving us ready cash to invest the way we want. At the moment, I'm not aware of what GD does not do well.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to construct a new and bigger house for my family. The remaining amount was spent on buying food for the family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that I do not have to worry about the house collapsing over our heads since we have moved into a new and bigger house. The new house is much stronger and more comfortable to live in.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on purchase of dry maize grain for food (4,000 KES), installed a solar panel for lighting (3,000 KES) and bought school uniform and books for my three children (3,000 KES).
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money, I felt very happy because in my whole life I had never been given any monetary present, leave alone a lot of it like what GD sent me.

My plan is to use the transfer to buy a piece of land, and build a house, so that I have my own home.

Having built this my house with savings from my casual work, is the achievement I'm proudest of.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Inadequate income to buy a piece of land, has been the biggest hardship I have faced.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the mornings, when I am performing household chores.
