Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Previously, I could not afford to plaster the house. I also a debt burden that accrued as a result of my illness. I was able to pay off that loan and I feel peaceful. I am very glad that I will be in position to renovate the house and beautify it. The other significant change is that I acquired house hold items such as a comfortable mattress and basic necessities.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I read the mobile money message early in the morning. I felt very happy because I had no other financial support. This was a miracle.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part of the cash transfer to pay a debt worth UGX 240000. I bought two trips of sand worth UGX 240000 and 18 bags of cement worth UGX 450000. I spent UGX 266000. I gave a friend UGX 100000. The balance was spent on buying a mattress worth UGX 110000 and bedsheets worth UGX 15000. I bought food and paid the builders with the rest of the cash transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money will enable me to pay off the lease amount for my land that I mortgaged. I mortgaged my land because I fell sick and I did not have money, I got money for paying medical bills. When I pay the lease amount, I will be able to cultivate crops which I will eat and sell part of it on order to acquire what I do not have.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest of my day is in the evening when I have gone out to socialize. This is the time when I interact so much with friends and it's a place where new ideas and born. I am staying a lone and most of the time I do not have some one to interact with. Meeting friends therefore makes me happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face in my life is that, the house I sleep on is dusty. It makes me fall sick now and then due to the dusty condition. Frequent sickness has reduced my immunity and weakend me to the extent that I am not strong enough to dig and earn a living from it. That has made me very vulnerable and helpless because when it's the rainy season, you are sick and hence you lack food because you did not cultivate.
