How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from the way it would have been had I not received the transfer in that I wouldn't be having a good income to sustain my needs and to save too. This is because I used the previous transfers to start up a boutique business. I'm happy I'm self-employed, have a reliable source of income and I'm earning a good income.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
Currently, I'm not married and I feel it's about time I should start a family. I, therefore, have a new goal expanding my business so that by the time I'll be settling down I'll be able to have enough income to take care of the family so that we can live a decent life.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have been operating a boutique business which I opened up with with the previous transfers but the stock I had was less and couldn't go for a week before I need to restock so I used the third transfer to add more stock to the business and to add other variety of goods to the business too. I believe this will improve on my profit which is my income to help me better my future.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently, many things that are very essential in my life have become possible. One of these is having shelter. When my business was boosted by the transfers, I have been able to get enough money to pay rent. I am currently free of the fear of losing my home. The room I live in is already paid for. Secondly is the meals that I can now afford. The times when I could go for severally days with not much to eat are long gone. Thissis because the business I do in selling my own bales is meaning ful. All the proceeds are for my own use. Happiness has been the result of all these abilities to do these things for myself.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life?
The additional goal that I now have is to boost my business. Before receiving this transfer, I was ever worried about its growth. The business had remained at the same level because I used to draw money from it for personal and household use. I now intend to make it bigger so that I can grow the proceeds too.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my recent transfer on buying Second-hand clothes for sale. I used KES 30000 on the business This is two large bales of the second-hand clothes that I will be trading in to generate a good income. I then used the remaining amount on buying foodstuffs and in paying school fees. The foodstuffs that I bought with the transfers were shopped and stoke so that I don't run have to draw money from my business on a daily basis. This is because I want to monitor well the progress of my business.

Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I plan to use my next transfer to expand this business by opening another boutique then employ some of my friends who did not manage to benefit from GD because they do not belong to any group which was the biggest qualification required by GD.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Now that I have my own business, I am more stable in terms of income because the little money I make daily goes a long way to settle my bills and take care of my daily needs. I am also more occupied and have no time to hang out with my former crew, this has made me focus and stay sober which makes me very proud.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I had always longed to have my own business because the casual jobs I depended were very unreliable and irregular which made me idle most of the time. The idle moments were spent with a group of friends who led me into drug use which is also very expensive. I decided to spend the entire amount I received on starting a second-hand cloth business. The money helped me to purchase the stock and rent a shop.
Describe the moment when you started receiving transfers. How did you feel?
When I received the money, I was so happy because I knew my dream of starting my own business was about to become a reality. This was also a chance to walk away from the bad company that I kept when I had no job. This group led me into drug use which made us do regretful stuff.
