How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Since I received money from GD my life has changed because I can manage to get all my meals daily which in the past was unheard of. I also have a big house which is comfortable as compared to the one I was formerly living in. I also have a dairy cow which provides me with milk for consumption and for sale.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly has uplifted us from poverty and our lives are greatly transformed since we started receiving our transfers. May God bless GD abundantly as they continue helping the poor allover the world.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my transfer to revive my sugarcane farm which was left fallow for two years because I did not have enough money to maintain it due to lack of a stable source of income. I also bought a dairy cow with part of my transfers which provides my household with some milk for consumption and sell the rest to earn money which enables us to meet our daily needs. I bought 2 sacks of maize which my family will consume during the long drought between January to April, this will help us enhance food security in my household so that avoid going to bed on empty stomach due to lack of food in the market.
