Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I became so happy the moment I realized that I had received money from GiveDirectly. I knew I would be able to achieve a lot using this money. I immediately informed my family about the good news and they were all happy as well.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have a place to call my own. I was able to buy a piece of land and build a small decent house for my family using my transfer. Because of this, we no longer live in the house my brother had given unto us. I am glad since God used GiveDirectly to fulfill my dreams of having a place to call home.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer to buy a piece of land and some iron sheets to use in building a house for my family. I settled on this since I did not have a place to call my own. I have been living with family in my brothers house as he had agreed we live there until we find a better place to relocate to after my mother in law had sent us out of her homestead.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a homestead for my family. My desire has been to own a piece of land since the place we call our home does not belong to us. I am intending to spend $500 to purchase 2 acres of land and to build a house for my family. This will earn me the respect which I lost for a long time in my community.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Morning is the happiest part of my day. Waking up healthy with my family and refreshed for my day's work gives me hope for better day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I have been homeless for 3 years after being chased away by my father in-law due family issues. This forced us to return to my maternal home with my husband which was shameful and against out tradition. I have wished to have my own place but I have not been able to do so due to financial crisis. Therefore, financial problem is my biggest hardship I am facing in my life.
