How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before receiving this money, I lived a stressful life because I did not have enough household items especially utensils, Clothes and water drum. I did not have enough land too since we had mortgaged it for some loans. The kind of a house I currently occupy is too small to accommodate us all with the children. Our children are 5 in number and we all occupy one small grass thatched house. My life is now filled with joy because I have managed to clear all my debts and repossessed my land which I now farm on. Seconly, I have started house construction which is spacious enough. I do believe that I could have died without sleeping in a iron roofed house if it wasn't of GD transfers. Therefore, I want to commend GiveDirectly for the awesome things they have done.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly brought happiness into my family. First and foremost I have managed to accomplish so many things which I could do on my own. For example I cleared debts which I acquired using land as security. Lastly I was able to raise a wall for my house waiting completion. I have not seen anything wrong done by GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I paid debts and bought building materials like cement, door, Windows, timber and iron sheets.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The big difference in my life now is that I have got back my farm land that was taken as security after repayment of a debt. The construction of an iron roofed house for my self is also ongoing and am sure of shifting into it once it is complete. Previously, I did not have enough farm land. I choose to construct an Iron roofed house because thatch has become scare and maintaining a hut is proving to be a challenge for most of us in my community.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I receive the transfer, I felt so happy and I woke up at mid night to join the rest of the village members in ululation as a sign of happiness for this money.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I am currently spending my first transfer for constructing an iron roofed house. I paid a debt of UGX 400,000 and bought food.
