Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Throught this financial support, my spouse was in position to pay dowry to my parents that has made me an official wife to my husband something which has made me very happy. Secondly I have acquired a television that I watch while relaxing after a long day's work and the television also updates me on current affairs. Prior to receiving this cash, I had no hope of getting married officially and acquiring a television because of the limited funds in our family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I heard my phone rung at around 5:AM when I cross checked it was a mobile money message notifying me that I had got money from GiveDirectly. I became very happy because this money was going to enable my spouse pay dowry to my parents.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have been staying with my spouse for 2 and half years without my parents being paid dowry, so when we got money from GiveDirectly we agreed as a couple to buy 2 cow, a sheep and UGX 300,000 that were paid as dowary. Furthermore, I bought a television and household items.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house. The one that I have is grass thatched which also leaks. The cost of changing grass is too high that I am not able to maintain it.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the noon time when I am listening to music over the radio. I feel relaxed.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of land for cultivation. What is available for me to cultivate is not enough to solve my cultivation needs. For this reason, food shortage is so common in my household and yet I can not help the situation.
