Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that the living standard of my family has improved. This is because I have been able to make good profit from the business and this has enabled me to comfortably meet the family's needs.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
We had stayed for two days without electricity, so I couldn't charge the phone. Three days later after recharging the phone, I was surprised to receive a confirmation message that I had received money from GiveDirectly. I was so excited and immediately I shared the message with my spouse.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Water is a challenge in our area, and we mostly rely on pond water which is not safe for domestic use. I used a portion of the money to purchase a water tank for harvesting rainwater so that we can have a supply of safe water for the domestic use. Part of the money we spent on boosting our business by adding a variety of commodities that we were not stocking before. I'm happy the business is doing great and the income has increased. My daughter who was about to sit for her final secondary examination was sent back home for school fee so part of the money I paid for her school fee so that she could be allowed to sit for her examinations.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a lot to me in that using the transfer I will be able to go and pay school fees arreas and collect my high school certificate, I will then enrol in ECD college and use the last Givedirectly transfer in opening a business that shall see me being self reliant even before getting formal employment upon finishing my ECD training.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is usually in the evening because the day comes to a close and there is time to relax with the family before eventually going to bed.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in life was losing my dad after a long sickness that drained all our family resources and I happened to have given birth, I was forced to get into early marriage due to frustration back at home, the marriage I got into have not helped either because my husband have school going children that most of the time after paying their fees he remains without money to meet our needs.
