How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to build a new house. My current house is small and can not house I and my family. Moreover, the roof is linking. so with this money I want to removed the tartch roof and roof it with zinc. This thought came right after I started receiving my transfer from Givedirectly.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I haven't seen anything Givedirectly is not doing well. Meanwhile, I think Givedirectly is doing well in giving money to the poor. This is the only NGO I see truely helping to change the lives of the poor by giving us an opportunity to directly benefit from cash donation without asking anything from us in return.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I will spend my money on zinc, planks and nails to build my house. I also want to pay my children school fees and buy matress for myself.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so happy when I received transferred from GiveDirectly. I did not believe this from the beginning, to see an organization sharing free money on poor people. My family has been living in extreme hardship for a very long time. Cutting palm to make oil was my only means of survivor and My kids could not go to school because of financial difficulties. Also the house I'm living in has been in a very bad condition. When ever rain starts to Fall everywhere in our house is fill with water from the leaking roof.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
There has been huge difference in my life. Before my kids could not go to school because of lack of finance. Also the house I'm living in is in a very bad condition. My dream has been to build a better house with iron sheet roof which will help keep us warm all year, but I could not afford the cost. My current house roof is made with thatches, when ever rain falls my family suffer from severe cold resulting from leakage. Our entire house become very wet and cold. With this financial help that GiveDirectly has given me I am really thankful to them for making my dream of living in a better shelter come to passed.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I want to build my own house so when I received my first money from GiveDirectly ,I used it to purchased roofing sheets. and the balance was used to paid my children tuitions.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Having lived in this delapetated structure for 5 years with my family and spouse with no hope of residing in a better place due to complete lack of finance, I will suggest to my spouse that we build a house with zinc on roof to abolish our long suffering from leakages we always experienced during rainy season. My spouse and I have five girls who we find it difficult to pay their school fees. Our plans is to build a modern house and pay our children school fees so as to keep them in school for future opportunities.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Despite of all the difficulties we faced with as a family, we are blessed with girls whom I am pleased with . To have them working for me thereby fetching water and taking care of the smaller ones always brought joy to me as a mother because there are numerous of friends who are still in search of child that I have been blessed with many .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Our challenges have been how to build our modern house to rescue us from placing dishes under the leakages within our house . The process of keeping leakages of your house from distroying your properties in your house during rainy season is tedious because you will find it difficult to sleep well . Finding school fees for our children without a permanent work or means of accumulating funds is a real problem we faced with as a family. Children need to eat every day and the process of gathering them food has to do with cash which we don't even know how to get it . These are just few of our challenges we faced in a yearly time .
