What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Goats do well due to availability of good vegetation meant for goats. I've missed out on a good opportunity since I don't own goats. They multiply fast and fetch good prices in the market. Goats are easy to sell and serve well during emergencies. I plan to buy about ten goats, it can cost upto $500 depending on the breeds available. Additionally, I need a proper kitchen. Since we cook outside now. An improved kitchen can cost about $300. This means I don't have to worry where to cook when it rains. Food availability is a problem, our area is only suitable for livestock keeping. I plan to buy a bag of maize, and save the rest of the transfer for food supplies. One bag of maize is currently retaining at $40.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I'm happy to have my own place to call home. One of my children helped me build this house. I sleep well at night and it's well cemented to reduce dust inside. I enjoy staying in this well built house. It's made of iron sheets, termites cannot destroy it.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I don't have a good kitchen area. We cook outside with my family, this means we cook before nightfall. While cooking outside, you can be disturbed by insects. During rainy seasons it's a problem, we must wait until the rain stops. My main house is small and cooking inside leads to a lot of smoke inside the house. It's unhealthy and can cause respiratory problems.
