How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different from how it would have been four months ago in that I have always had food for my family. Before the transfers, I used to go for casual work to raise the money for feeding my family. In most cases, we would only take one or two meals a day because we did not have enough to eat. Since I started receiving these transfers, I have always found it easy to feed my family. I have been buying food in bulk which has kept us going even during the dry seasons.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal in the next four months is to buy iron sheets which I will use in building a new kitchen. Right now, my grandchildren have had to walk at night to find a sleeping place because the house I have now, cannot accommodate us all well. This is why I have decided to build a kitchen where the will sleep.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I did not have any form of livestock in my life before the transfers. I had lost hope in having livestock since I do not have any source of income to help me achieve the goal. Worst of all, my husband also passed away leaving me with all the burdens of the house. I started to go for casual work to keep our lives going. When GD came to my life, I was relieved and right now I have three sheep which is an investment for my family. I don't feel as poor as I was before the transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I would be having a new kitchen. I am planning to save part of my transfers so that I may be able to buy building materials such as iron sheets and timber which I will use in building a kitchen for my grandchildren to spend in.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different because I do not have to do tedious casual work or burn charcoal to earn income for my family. I earn so little from these activities that I can only use to buy food family. I am glad that I receive these transfers as I can top them up to my income and better the lives of my family members. I have managed to save and enrol my grandchild for a hairdressing course. When she is done she can have a way of earning income for her upkeep.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have started buying building materials that I want to use in building a kitchen. I want to save and buy more iron sheets that I plan to use in building the new kitchen.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life is that I have acquired livestock for rearing as financial security for my family. I would sell them when I have financial constraints for the provision of the family. I have always dreamt of venturing into livestock farming. This dream has come to pass as GiveDirectly enabled me by sending me the transfers that I saved and started it off.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My kitchen is thatched and leaks whenever it rains. It is old and on the verge of falling down at any time. I have started buying building materials that I want to use in building a kitchen using the previous transfers. I expect to save and buy more building materials that I will use to build a new kitchen.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I didn't know how peaceful and organized one can be if he or she receives a monthly payment. Being a beneficiary, my life is currently different since I have been able to acquire loans to pay school fees for my grandchildren with the surety that I will settle it. This has given me a peace of mind and the joy of seeing my grandchildren who had lost hope of going to school achieve their dreams.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have started to save money in a merry - go- round where we are ten members with the aim of buying the necessary building materials which will necessitate the construction of my dream kitchen in the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Life wasn't easy before GiveDirectly came to my village especially whenever I had any emergency such as illness because I had nowhere I could outsource money. At times it was very devastating; it could reach a point where I had to beg my neighbors or organize for a fundraiser to cater for these emergencies. So when I received my transfer I felt the need of saving my money and now it has bore good fruits as I have bought a goat which I am certain it will reproduce and thereafter I will be able to sell some of it on emergency cases and this is the biggest difference in my daily life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Since I started receiving these transfers I have seen the importance of savings and this has motivated me to join a merry go round where we are ten members so I expect in the next six months to have bought building materials which I will use to build my dream kitchen.
