Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was around 7 in the morning when I saw the message notification. Without wasting time, I decide to check its content, it was from GiveDirectly indicating that they had sent my first transfer as the had promised. I could not hold my joy since I knew that I would be able to achieve a lot using the transfer.airy
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
A lot has happened ever since I received my first transfer but the fact that I now own a pair of oxen has brought the biggest difference in my daily life. Currently, I am taking little time in preparing my farm since the pair take fewer days to plough an acre unlike before whereby I was using my own hands. I do believe I will now be getting enough yields since am now in a position to plough the whole of my farm. Also, I am planning them to my at a fee and get an income that will help me sustain my family's needs without straining like before
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my first transfer on buying some livestock such as a pair of oxen. This is what I have been yearning for so many years but I could not afford to purchase them. I also bought some building materials such as iron sheets, buildings poles. threads, nails. This was for the construction of a new house for my children since they have been sleeping at their friend's houses for so many years simply because my house was small. With the remaining amount of money, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My longing has been to build a spacious house for my 4 girls. Three of my beautiful daughters have microcephaly cases they can not hear nor speak since they were born. Though they have been receiving different support e.g food and medication from different donors but I have not been able to build for them a house. Receiving this transfer means fulfilling my long term desire. I am planning to spend $ 80 constructing the house so that they can enjoy living comfortable with their elder sister. Other than the house am planning to spend the extra amount to purchase at least 6 goats this will be a long term investment to my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the evening. It is at this time when I have time to pray and give thanks to our Almighty for the protection throughout the day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest challenge is lack of adequate income to sustain my family. I depend on charcoal burn which earns me $4 in a week. Can this be enough to sustain a family of 5 in a week?
