"I live with my kids and a husband who is a retired casual labourer of a certain institution. Currently, I have 4 kids who are still schooling. I adopted two of them after the demise of their parents. With no regular source of income, paying for the school fees of these four kids had been an uphill task for me and I have had to sell part of the livestock I had to achieve this. This for me has been the biggest hardship I have ever experienced."

"I don't have job security and I do casual jobs within my village, each day I wake up to look for jobs to do so that I can get an income. I am never guaranteed and so sometimes I have to borrow money from friends just to make ends meet. Receiving this money will mean financial stability for my household. My son is joining school in 5 months time and I would love to invest in his education with the transfer. Also I will buy 2 cows for milking, start farming then sell and get an income. I will have employed myself as well as not worry where to get school fees for my child."

"I have derived a sense of fulfillment through living a comfortable life by having a stable source of income that I have been unable to attain. My ambition has always to own a dairy cow which will boost my chance of fulfilling my dreams. Owning a dairy cow will serve as a source of income through the sale of milk. I am planning to spend approximately Ksh 30000 to acquire one and I am projecting to milk around 2 liters a day. I will be able to sell 1.5 liters and consume the remaining. Owing to this, I will be able to lead a better life, and thus receiving this money means to me."

"Our kitchen's grass-tatched roof is leaking. As such, receiving this money means that we shall afford to build a better kitchen with an iron-sheet roof. Consequently, we shall have improved cooking experiences. Also, some of my children who normally sleep in the kitchen shall no longer be disturbed by rains at night ."
